9. Adding the slide’s narration

With PowerPoint Force it’s easy to add narrations to your slides.

To add a narration:

1. Navigate to MS PowerPoint, then open the PowerPoint Force menu.

2. Select Narration from the PowerPoint Force menu.

You will see a table displaying each slide and its narration. For each slide you can record a new or import the existing narration from the file:

To record a narration or change the recorded sound file click the record () button. The record window is displayed in the top-right corner of the screen. When recording, you can drag the record window anywhere within the screen.

The minirecordercontains the following options:

To start recording your narration click on the record button. You can use the pause button while recording. To finish the recording press the stop button. Once the narration has been recorded it can be played by pressing the play button.

Press the Next Slide button to proceed to the next slide, or choose the slide in the drop-down box at the top of the window. In the top-left corner you will be able to see the duration of the narration.

TheNext animation button will be disabled if the slide doesn’t contain animation.Yet if it does, press this button to trigger the animation when needed. See the section 13.3.3 for more information about animation.

If you choose the Overwriterecord typein the Record Type sectionthen you can record a new narration over the existing one.

But you can as well insert an additional record into the existing narration. Select the Insert record type. You can choose a point in the already existing narration where a new part will be added. To do that push Play, thenStop the record at the necessary point, and after that push Record. So, if you want to make a record at the end of existing one, you have to push Play and wait for the end of the record.

PowerPoint Force creates a folder in the active presentation directory to store the saved narrations for this presentation.

To assign an existing record to a slide click the add () button and select the location of the .wav file on your machine.

To delete the assigned narration click the delete () icon.
