13.1 Web Publishing

If you wish to view your published presentation locally or you’re going to upload it to a Web server on the Internet or intranet, do the following:

1. Navigate to MS PowerPoint, then open the PowerPoint Force menu.

2. Select Publish > Publish for Web from the PowerPoint Force menu.

3. You will see the following dialogue window:

Set the options as described in the following table:

Field

Description

Location

Set the destination folder for the presentation in this field. Press the ellipsis button to browse a folder on your machine or type it in manually.

Title

The default title is the same as the PowerPoint presentation’s name. If you leave the default name for presentation, do not use the folder where the .pptfile is placed, because PowerPoint Force uses the same path to save the recorded narrations.

Template

Select a template for the presentation from the drop-down box by pressing on the down array. Thedefault is the Standard Template. Templates can be managed in the Template Builder.

Logo

Select a template for the presentation. Logos can be managed in the Library.

Presenter

You can either set a presenter for each of the slides (this can be set in the Slide Manager) or you can use a common presenter for all the slides (he/she is selected from the drop-down box by pressing the down array). Presenters can be managed in the Library.

Playlist

You can set a playlist for each of the slides (this can be set in the Slide Manager) or use a common playlist for all the slides (they are selected from the drop-down box by pressing the down array). Playlists can be managed in the Library.

Press the Ok button to publish your presentation. Youcanlookthroughthe presentation with thehelpofpresentation.html.

Remember:FlashmoviesandWebObjects will work correctly only after you publish them on the web server or start the presentation from the publishing location.

When viewing the presentation from the location where it’s published you can use the Fullscreen mode button. It will allow you to roll up and out the slides of the presentation, unless they contain animations. This button becomes blocked when the slide’s animation starts.
