4.2 Inserting a Flash Movie

PowerPointForce 3 facilitates inserting previously created Flash movies into the presentation.

The created Flash Movie will be available for viewing after you have published the presentation.

To add a Flash Movie, do the following:

1. Navigate to MS PowerPoint, and open the PowerPointForce 3 menu.

2. Click Insert and select Flash Movie:

3. In the open form, set the needed options, or leave the default ones:

Field

Step

File

Click the Browse () button, and then from the dialog box, select the .swf file on your computer or type it in manually.

Show with delay from the beginning

If you want your flash movie file to be played with delay, select the corresponding check box and set the delay time in seconds; otherwise leave the box empty (your movie will be played automatically after opening the slide). This option is off for PowerPoint.

Size

The default is the Full Slide (Full Screen) option. Later on you can change the flash movie’s dimensions and its position the same way it can be done with the other slide’s objects (if the option In new browser window view is on).

If you want to set the flash movie’s dimensions in percent, select the In percents radio button, and then set them using the corresponding boxes.

If you want to set the flash movie’s dimensions in pixels, select the In pixels radio button, and then set them using the corresponding boxes.

View

There are two viewing options:

Standard – the newly created flash movie will be displayed in the presentation.

In new browser window - a new window will be opened independently from the slide and the created flash movie will be displayed in that window. If you choose this option, the Flash Movie will not be inserted in the top left-hand corner of the slide, but the Flash icon will be. You can drag this icon anywhere within the slide. The icon is assigned for your reference: just to indicate that Flash Movie has been inserted. It will not appear in the player when the presentation is published.

4. Click Ok to add the created Flash Movie into the presentation.
