Hi,

Do you know of anyone that has used the JoomlaLMS product in an education oriented website for children? If so, could you get me the website / example of how they have used it?

We're considering using it to create pre-k through 12th grade types of online courses, so the LMS would probably have to be substantially modified to appeal to that demographic in terms of look and feel.

Thanks

Hi Ilan,
JoomlaLMS can be used successfully for children education also. But remember this - you have to configure your site itself more then JoomlaLMS. (i.e. to use nice template for kids, add different content on a site to make it easy, etc.) Also JoomlaLMS documentation can be redone in funny way so kids like it.

Here are example of the site for high school:

I have a site for 10-14 year old kids and am using JLMS it's great. I had to add a few nice and big buttons because they didn't know about learning paths but once I did that and they spent sometime to slow down and read then it was just fine. And ProdM is right... it's all about the colors and the template. Also you may want to find web 2.0 style icons those work great.

We use JoomlaLMS in school (high school for 11 - 18 yr olds).

The implementation has been extremely successful with well over 2 million hits per month, approx 1000 document downloads per day, over 700 active courses, and over 10000 resource uploads by staff.

I am in the initial stages of implementing the LMS in the local primary schools.

We have had excellent feedback from pupils, staff and parents and I am now receiving national and international requests to come and see what we have done. I have seen many attempts to implement a learning environment using Moodle and the RM offering but none come anywhere close to what JoomlaLMS offers. It is intuitive in operation, comprehensive in its design, and has fantastic support.

As far as I am concerned JoomlsLMS is the best out there at the moment. The Joomla integration is painless and allows template design to suit your own demographic. Add in the number of modules and components available for Joomla and you can't really go wrong!
