As far as I know, currently the JoomlaLMS video conference tool only works with FMS.

However, it is possible, of course, to integrate your own conference tool - which then may be able to run on other servers - like red5 - ...

But .... maybe things are changing already! ;-)

Andreas is right - currently JLMS conference works on FMS only.

I assume, shobinsun meant something like Red5 - which is the open source alternative for FMS.

And yes, I hope that one of these days JoomlaLMS will not be limited to FMS, as the full version of FMS is quite expensive.....

However, we are quite happy with the developper version for the time being.

red5 won't do, you need FMS, but why do you need to purchase the server? You can just purchase FMS hosting - our prices for the hosting start from 120 USD/year. You can also visit www.influxis.com or other FMS hosting providers to get the hosting.

Also, the Adobe Flash Media Development Server is free as far as I know, but is limited to 10 connections.
