Is there a way to set expiration dates on a course? I would like to host a online course that can be started at the users convenience during any time of the year. But from the date of purchase, they should only have 30 days to complete the course. If the course is not completed within this time, there access level should expire.

Yes, it's possible - you can configure X days subscription to your courses in JoomlaLMS backend -> subscriptions.

I did see that, but this feature does not seem to work with free courses. Am I wrong?

In the post above you've mention paid access to the courses. So, if you wish to limit user's access to the paid course you will need to set date limitations in subscription properties.

If you wish to limit the user's access into the free course, you can do it in one of the following ways:

1) You can change the user's access period for the course after their enrollment. To do this just open the course's 'Users management' page and edit the necessary user access details)

2) You can also configure the course availability, e.g. the course is published from XX-XX-XXXX to YY-YY-YYY

3) In case you use CommunityBuilder (CB) on your site you can install the JoomlaLMS 'auto-enrolment' plugin for CB and configure it to enroll users into specific courses for a specified number of days right after the registration on the site.

I was hoping to be able to use the "X days subscription" for free courses. The course we have is a demo course that is available indefinitely to allow users to try the solutions prior to purchasing the actual course. For obvious reasons I do not want these users to set within the course for to long. Is this feature not avialable for use with free courses?
