I have just begun looking at Joomla on the suggestion of our IT consultant and I am using his login to access this forum. Our current LMS/LCMS is 4 years old and we need to move to something with additional functionality. I have not looked at all of Joomla, but I have seen much that I like, but I am concerned about our need for serious customization, especially in the area of certain reports and some functionality. Admittedly, some of my needs may be "flexible" and perhaps what is available in Joomla could be used in place of our current system of reporting etc. FYI we are a proprietary school professional license training school doing B to C and B to B sales. We have about 30,000 students in our data base, but only about 1,000 are active at any given time. The rest are stored records in our database. Each month about 500 students drop out and 500 new ones begin courses. In any case I'd appreciate the answers to the following:

1) Obviously, we would need the Pro edition of Joomla (about $6,000/yr), and possibly the perpetual license with unlimited users, but everything seems to address the LMS and I don't see much (maybe it's just me) about content creation, management, reporting etc. Is that a different package? I need to prepare, sell, deliver, monitor, and supervise courses...is there a "Super Pro" edition that encompasses everything I might ever need?

2) How do I get information, or is it even possible, to customize the product. Any idea on cost?

3) Your support is operating GMT+2. My current support is in the UK and I'm at Central time in the US and I have found the time difference often to be a problem. Does 24/7 support exist? Cost?

4) Is there a company that trains on the use (including any customizations) of Joomla, especially on site?

Thank you

Thank you for your interest in JoomlaLMS.

JoomlaLMS Pro allows to do everything you listed, mainly prepare, sell, deliver, monitor, and supervise courses. You can upload various types of files in the Documents section, create links, upload SCORMs, create Learning Paths out of all elements. You can create paid and free courses, subscriptions to paid courses can be sold using various payment processors (Paypal, Authorize.net etc.). There are different user roles in JoomlaLMS and CEO/Parent role allows users to view the progress of certain students assigned to them.

You can learn all about the opportunities JoomlaLMS offers by watching our video tutorials here http://www.joomlalms.com/tutorials.html.

Indeed we provide custom development on a paid basis. Our fee is 75 USD per development hour and the number of hours is estimated for each project individually. So if you are interested you can describe the custom development you need in detail and we will estimate the project for you.

Unfortunately we provide only the support described in our policy here http://www.joomlalms.com/joomlalms-support-policy.html. But we have partners in the UK and you can contact them to learn about the support they offer (if any). You can see the list of our partners here http://www.joomlalms.com/partners.html.

We also have partners http://cnpsupport.com/ who provide instructions on the use of Joomla and JoomlaLMS (online as well).

Should you have more questions please don't hesitate to let us know.
