can LMS be used without CB?
what happens when Joomla 1.5 becomes available?
is SMF forum, joomla and lms linkable with ONE user login?
can LMS be used without CB?
Yes. You should disable option 'CB installed' in LMS configuration under admin Back-End.

Update will take no more than week, but only when Joomla 1.5 will be available as stable release.

Yes. LMS is Joomla component and uses Joomla login. Also LMS has special bridge for synchronizing users between SMF and Joomla.

Say we develop courses with 1.0.12 and then comes upgraded LMS and Joomla 1.5
will we have trouble moving courses and users from 1.0.12 to the new lms and Joomla 1.5 or will it be a huge undertaking such that it would be better to wait for 1.5 and your update to the lms for 1.5)

Indeed, if this could develop into a problem, it might be better to wait. But since the LMS is a component with its own tables (which Joomla won't touch, because Joomla cannot know) and Joomla tables will be taken care of by wonderful Den :-) I suppose there shouldn't be a problem.
In other words: your course is developped inside JoomlaLMS, not Joomla. If JoomlaLMS runs under Joomla 1.5 so should your courses within JoomlaLMS!
To be on the safe side: I like the export function of JoomlaLMS. You export your whole course and import it in a different version or different server. ....
But better safe then sorry, so let's hear Den on this.
We will not have any troubles with courses synchronization. If users synchronization will become necessary we could provide free special solution for our customers.
