Hi
I've configured most of LMS (Demo Version) and looked at the tutorials. I noticed that there should be teachers and students menus to configure (what's turned on or off as in the tutorial. However, the message in the menu configuration manager states: "Disabled in LMS configuration" and I can't find anywhere to enable it. This looks like an essential part to complete my experimental use and demo site. Can you help?
Thanks

This doesn't help me set up the site. How do I get to see the various menu items? Or if I'm not allowed to, then please just say so.
If you are logged in LMS as teacher, on the course home page you could see 'Settings' button. On 'Settings' page you can adjust teacher and student top menus as on attached image.

I know that - I did go through the tutorial. When I'm logged in as a teacher or as the administrator, the message I get when I open up settings is:
"Disabled by administrator or in Course settings"
When I look in the backend, I see that all menus are locked, with the message: "Disabled in LMS configuration".
So :
I'm unable to enable the settings in the backend,
so they are invisible in the front end as a result.
That is the issue.
Any other ides?
I really want this to work, as I want to show it to a school in a few days time. I can't if I can't get it to work....
Can you post screenshot for me?
If big images will not be attached, pack them into zip and attach archive.

What version of JoomlaLMS you are using?
Have you got any errors during installation?
Try to download latest trial version and reinstall the component. (Be sure to remove current version and install new one. Don't worry about your DB information, it won't be lost).
Then post here your results.
If nothing to be happens try to completely remove all tables from your DB with prefix 'jos_lms_' (by phpMyAdmin for ex.) and reinstall component.

I'm using Joomla 1.0.12
I've uninstalled the LMS and re-downloaded it and re-installed it. No error messages. Result? Same as before.
I've no ide what to do. You can look at the site if you want: elearning.testsite.li and see for yourself. I'm sure it's got something to do with the locked menus in the backend. The little lock is the same as that displayed when something is checked out, but I've done a global checkin with nothing changing. I'm stuck..
I can suggest 2 ways for you:
1. Completely uninstall the compoenent. Manually remove all tables with '#__lms_' ('jos_lms_') prefix from your Database. You can do it under your CPanel via phpmyadmin.
In that case all your DB information will be lost.
2.
Uninstall component under admin Back-End. Using phpMyAdmin change one record in 'jos_lms_config' table from:
'jlms_version' '1.0.2'
to:
'jlms_version' '1.0.0_SP3'
And install component again. In this case menu should be installed.
After component installation re-save it configuration firstly!
If nothing will help... see PM.

I tried the second method first, as the less destructive option, and it worked! I now see all the options available. There is still something strange in the backend, where there is still a message which suggests something is locked (see the attached Screenshot). But the basics seem to work!
Thanks a lot. Why should the version number make such a difference?
It seems that there was an error during your first installation. All your other installations were passed as updates (because all necessary data is installed).
Menu items are installed during update from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1. (therefore you've changed version number).
Message at the bottom is a comment described items with 'lock' mark.

Same issue here. I tried the 2nd option, but I can't seem to change the sting. I am getting an error:
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'A' at line 1
My original line says 1.0.3 and not 1.0.2 though.
Have you got any errors during installation? Do you use previuos versions of JoomlaLMS? Do you use JoomLearn LMS (any edition)?
Follow these instructions:
1. Redownload latest trial version from the Member's Area.
2. Manually remove table `jos_lms_config` from your database.
3. Reinstall the component.

How would you delete all the jos_lms tables other then one by one?
If you are using phpMyAdmin then you could select checkboxes near needed tables and DROP selected (this option is below of the tables list)

Is this still the recommended solution to this? I'm now running into the same issue on 1.0.13.
Thanks

to answer myself.... Cleared the tables now it works. Had Joomlearn installed in the past. Guess that is what messed it up
