According to this page:
http://www.joomlalms.com/buy_now/
Installation comes with purchase. We tried to install it and ran into an error when it reaches the zip file, so we gave up. We do not want someone to walk us through this at this point. We bought the product for the free installation, but now no one is responding to our pleas for help. Can someone at eLearning Force please come forward and do this for us? Thank you.
Please do not use different threads to solve your problem.
At the page http://www.joomlalms.com/buy_now/
you can see point "If you want us to install and configure the LMS" where you can order installation and configuration for JoomlaLMS and Joomla.
We do not provide free installation after the 1st November. You do not bought the product with free installation.
Please check this thread: http://www.joomlalms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=672

Den,
Please do not confuse my thread with Michael's. This is not related. He shouldn't even be on here. He's trying to install it on his hard drive, but shouldn't be. I asked him to stop.
First of all, your website did not say anything about a Nov 1 deadline on that web page. You guys just changed that after my post yesterday by adding the "*Paid service", most likely because you forgot to update it. I can understand that you had a promotion that expired, but your website was misleading at the time of our purchase, and we thought we were getting the free installation.
That said, we think we are still entitled to it. But moving on. Michael's problem is that he is trying to install on his hard drive without Joomla installed. This is not my problem. I have Joomla installed. When I go through the installation process for LMS, it comes to the place where i locates the zip file and then stops and comes back with an error. I'm assuming it can't unpack it, but that is just a guess. I'm attempting to install it on a new server now to see if it works there.
Can you provide link to the installation script?
Also check your PM.
If you have serious problems with installation, just provide FTP + Joomla admin access (via PM) and i will help you ( in token of the existing situation).

Thanks Den. I may need to take you up on that. I have Joomla installed on a new server now and am waiting for the system admin to install ioncube for us. Then I'll give it another try.
I just tried again in the old location and the error I got was:
Installer
Trying to install com_joomla_lms.zip
An error occurred during the component's installation.
but this may be moot on the new server. I'll let you know after ioncube is installed. It will be going up here: http://74.53.203.58
At the second step of the installation I saw 2 error messages:
1. The installation package wasn't found. Please upload JoomlaLMS package into the Joomla! CMS root folder.
You should upload the file XXXXX_JoomlaLMS_1.0.4_PRO_unzip1st.zip to the folder where you have already uploaded the joomlalms_helper.php.
2. Joomla! temporary folder (media) is not writable. Please check permissions and try again.
In the Joomla root directory you can find the 'media' folder. Just set permissions for it to '0777' (make folder writable) using FTP manager.
Also I can guess that Joomla is not properly configured, in this case components' installation may produce errors.
Go to Joomla administration panel -> System -> System info -> open tab 'permissions' and set permissions for all listed here folders to '0777' (make them writable) using FTP manager.

Hi Den,
Ok, we're ready to go on the new server. You actually jumped the gun. I wasn't ready in that location. zip pack has been uploaded, and I get the EXACT SAME error there. http://74.53.203.58/joomlalms_helper.php Any other ideas?
How do I get the ftp info to you? I don't know what PM is.
Thanks,
Kathy
Open your Joomla administration panel -> System -> System info -> open tab 'permissions' and check that all folders liste here are writable.
To send PM:
Click my name at the top of this post -> 'Send a private message to den'

Setting permissions did the trick. The only directory that is not set is Session but I can't find that anywhere. Should it be?
Ok, so now it looks like the installation worked according to the message at the end of the installation process, but where is it? You might want to include this at the end of your installation. That is, provide a link to the front and back ends. I have no idea where it is. Couldn't find it in your online manual either.
Please send me the URL. Thanks.

Oh, and another question, there was nothing at the end that said here's the admin login. How do we get that?

Sometimes permissions of the 'Session Directory' are reported wrong. It is an option of the server configuration, don't worry about it.

Joomla BackEnd is located at yoursite.com/administrator. Here you are logged in with administrator login details.
After the successful installation of JoomlaLMS, at the BackEnd in the 'Components' menu a new menu item 'JoomlaLMS' will show up.
Go to the 'Compoents' -> JoomlaLMS -> Configuration and make sure that all configuration options are correctly configured. (Wrong settings will be marked with RED color). If the installation process was successful only one option will marked with RED color - 'JoomlaLMS is offline?'. Set this parameter to 'No' and click the 'Apply' button.
Joomla FrontEnd is your site's main page - yoursite.com. This page usually consists of the content item, modules and menu. To configure menu items go to Joomla BackEnd -> menu -> Mainmenu. Here you will see the list of items appropriate for your site menu. To create a menu item for JoomlaLMS component click the 'New' button -> select 'components' from the 'Components' section -> enter the name of the new menu item and select 'JoomlaLMS' from the list of components.
After that at the FronEnd you will see a new menu item linked to the JoomlaLMS component.
JoomlaLMS has 2 main roles: teacher and learner.
Course creating is possible only for teachers.
To create a teacher you should go to the Joomla BackEnd -> Components -> JoomlaLMS ->Users management, click the New button. Here you will see the list of site users (in newly created sites only one user will be listed here - 'admin'). To give him the teacher rights, select him in the list and select 'teacher' in the 'role' box.
After that you will be able to create courses at the FrontEnd in the JoomlaLMS menu item (providing that you logged in under the teacher's account, particularly "admin', at the FrontEnd)
