Default Mandatory courses

Is it possible to set a course as "mandatory" for certain students? At our company we would want to have certain courses be mandatory for certain students to take. For instance new employees must take a safety course when they start at the company. We would want to set a time limit and if the employee does not take the course send an email to the employee and to the site admin. Is this possible???

There is no special option in JoomlaLMS unfortunately to make the course mandatory. But you can use some workaround - for example allow user access only to the mandatory course at first and prohibit enrollment to all other courses. After a user takes this course you can manually enroll this user in other courses.
You can set an end date for a course after which the course won't be available for students. But email notifications can be sent in JoomlaLMS only on certain occasions - e.g. on course completion. Notifications can't be sent if a student hasn't completed the course in a certain period of time.
