Hi,
I really like the Module that allows me to highlight JoomlaLMS courses on any page on my website. This is the module I am referring to: mod_lms_courses My question is if it is possible to control the courses this module displays. It does not seem like I can specify which courses I want displayed or not displayed. For example, let's say I want 3 or 4 specific course displayed in this module, how could / would I do that? Please let me know if this is possible and if so, how. Thanks, Colt |

Hi everyone,
I wanted to pass on a work around that Denis was able to help me with. To recap, I wanted to use the JoomlaLMS Menu Module (mod_jlms_menu). When I assigned it to a page, I could not control which courses the module displayed. So here is the work around. Step 1 - From your Menu Manager, create a new menu group. For this example, let's call it "Featured Courses". Step 2 - Within that newly created Menu, begin creating new Menu. Step 3 - For the Menu Type, select External URL (at the bottom of the "Select a Menu Item Type" options. Step 4 - For the Menu Title, the name you enter will be the name that is displayed on the front-end of the site. So, for example, let's say one of my featured classes was a Intro to Psychology class. I would type in the Menu Title "Introduction to Psychology (3 Credits)" Step 5 - Directly below the Menu Title field, there will be a field titled "Link". In this field, you want to paste the URL of the course details page. This is the page that gives the user the option to enroll or register into the course. Repeat steps 2 - 5 as many times as desired. Each time you create a new menu item, it will create a new link within the Module box that will eventually be created. OK, now you have all of the featured courses you want displayed, let's move on to the next step. Step 6 - Extensions > Module Manager and create a new Module. Step 7 - For Module Type, select "Menu" Step 8 - Give the Module a Title, in this case, I'm going to give it the title of "Featured Courses". Step 9 - Select a Module position and determine which pages you want the module assigned to. Step 10 - Under Basic Option, it will ask you to select a menu that this module is based on. In the pull down, locate the Menu group you just created and select it. That's it! It is actually very easy and very effective way to feature specific courses within JoomlaLMS on any of your pages. Hope this helps! Colt |
