Hello Den,
As we discussed in the other thread, logging into SMF has become a real issue for me. Students when they use public computers, seem to have trouble getting into the forum. I have PM'd few emails from them to you. Any help? drb |

Thanks, Den.
I had to request 'urgent' because they have quizzes coming up next week and some information have been posted in the forum. Meanwhile, I shall gather some more information on how and why they are having difficulty in those public places. drb |

Den,
I have some more information from the administrator of our student computers. I personally went there myself and was testing. Two browsers are there IE and Firefox. FF will clear all private data after closing. While with IE, it will clear all data (temp folder) once the student logs out of the computer. Administrator has a script to do that. I tried to log in, and joomla fine. But with SMF, it wouldn't let me in. Inspite of reentering the login/pwd again, it still wouldn't log me in. I cleared private data (cookies) etc and tried to log in again, still the same issue. I couldn't get into SMF. Then from my office computer, I logged into SMF separately (not through joomla) as an administrator, and looked at members list. It had only 30 members out 60 users. The account that I used for testing luckily was there. Hope this information helps further. drb |

Sorry more updates.
More students emailed saying that they are having issues with their home computers too. SMF will not allow them to login. I am not sure at all. Some users, enrolled/subscribed to course while some registered with joomla but I added them as a user to the course LMS frontend after loggin in as a teacher. Hope that is not the issue. I thought maybe users didn't get imported into SMF (as I saw only 1/2 in SMF than joomla LMS users). However, i got complaints from users whose userID is already there in SMF members list and also from some users whose userID is not in SMF. So I guess imported user ID list into SMF from joomla is not the issue. Emails are pouring from students and I am going nuts!! :-( drb Last edited by drb; 09-07-2007 at 12:27 AM. |
