In the limited time I have been using LMS it is suggested that the following be modified:
1. Give the backend option to replace image icons for student/teacher menu to regular text links 2. Show due date for Assignment in the quick link home section 3. Ability to set publishing times for homework and tests. So, if the quiz is to start on January 30, 2008 it does not show up until that date. 4. Ability to attach documents to homework that is sent to instructor-when document sent check off complete on instructor side 5. Lock power point/word docs/ etc from being altered by students when published to documents I have more but I'll post them later to this same thread. |

I think, all the suggestions are reasonable and helpful for future development. As to suggestion #5 I believe using pdf documents might be the easier and better answer.

I was not suggesting, your suggestion (including #5) was not worthwhile - quite the opposite. However, in programming there needs to be some priority in what to implement first and what should be implemented later.
Overall I understand the document section as a tool to provide material for the students for download. If I provide such material in such a way, students will do with it, whatever they like........ (Trust me, they WILL!). If for instance I don't want them to simply copy & paste use a textdocument, I use Wordforce (as learningpath), if I don't want them to mess with my powerpoint presentation I use PowerpointForce (or a similar tool). If I want them to download the stuff, I use PDF. So I simply wanted to signal, the suggestions are worthwhile in my view, but suggestion #5 did not have as a priority for me and I see good workarounds. |

Ah! Now I see why the other compenents should be used. Thank you for your detailed response. There are viable options, however, I do not have the components to test. Thank you very much! I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it all.
