Installation and updating

I have installed JoomlaLMS. How can I enter LMS at the Front End?
How can I create a user with the teacher rights?
When I go to Course Management the Course list is Blank, and I can not see any button to add new course. How can add the course?
During the installation I receive the message saying 'the file admin.joomla_lms.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_xxx_x.x.so to be installed by the site administrator'. What does it mean?
How do I renew or update my system?
Do I lose my courses, materials or any other data during update or renewal?

I have installed JoomlaLMS. How can I enter LMS at the Front End?
To create a JoomlaLMS link in your Front End menu you should configure the Joomla menu.
Do the following: Navigate to administrator’s Back End -> Menu -> main menu -> Click the ‘New’ button -> Select ‘component’ from the ‘components’ section -> Enter the name of the menu item, select JoomlaLMS from the list of components and click the ‘Save’ button. After this you will see JoomlaLMS link on your front page.

How can I create first user with the teacher rights?
To create a user with the teacher rights you should enter the Back End under the administrator account. Then open the page ‘Users management’ from the ‘Users management’ left menu section of the JoomlaLMS component configuration, click the ‘New’ button, select a Joomla user and set a role for him.

When I go to Course Management the Course list is blank, and I can not see any button to add new course. How can add the course?
You have entered the Back End. To create a course you should login under the teacher rights at the Front End. Then access the JoomlaLMS menu item and there you will see 'new course' button.

During the installation I receive the message saying 'the file admin.joomla_lms.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_xxx_x.x.so to be installed by the site administrator'. What does it mean?
This message just means that you should install ioncube on the server. To install ioncube, please follow the instructions provided in our help section: http://www.joomlalms.com/lms_help/task,view_by_id/id,35/

How do I renew or update my system?
To renew or update your system follow these steps:
1.    Backup your custom languages.
2.    Backup your video conference uploads. Video conference uploads are located in components/com_joomla_lms/upload/
3.    Save the custom modifications done in the old system (if any).
4.    There are two ways to renew your system.
  • The first way: uninstall JoomlaLMS and install the new package using native Joomla CMS installer. To learn how to do it click here
  • The second way: uninstall JoomlaLMS and install the new package automatically using JoomlaLMS installer (joomlalms_helper.php).  To learn how to do it click here

5.     Apply custom code modifications. DO NOT REWRITE NEW INSTALLED FILES WITH OLD MODIFIED ONES - MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES IN THE NEW FILES.
6.    Check the system data.

Do I lose my courses, materials or any other data during update or renewal?
No, you don't. All your data will remain intact.

How do you manage the categories/high-level subjects from which the courses are then added to?
