What does SCORM compliant mean?SCORM stands for Sharable Courseware Object Reference Model (SCORM), which is a set of specifications that, when applied to course content, produces small, reusable e-Learning objects. A result of the Department of Defense's Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) initiative, SCORM-compliant courseware elements are easily merged with other compliant elements to produce a highly modular repository of training materials. JoomlaLMS 1.0.2 is a SCORM (both 1.2 and (1.3)2004) compliant LMS.This means that you can easily import SCORM packages into JoomlaLMS courses and track users progress on them. You can create SCORM content in any authoring tool (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate and so on). Upgrade from JoomlaLMS 1.0.1 and possible problems.This part is important only for users who are used SCORM content in versions earlier then JoomlaLMS 1.0.2.
After upgrade to JoomlaLMS 1.0.2 you could have problems with auto-starting of SCORM packages (for students) and editing SCORM parameters (for teachers).
To avoid these problems firstly activate each of your SCORM course by clicking on it (SCORM instance will be automatically updated to be compatible with new SCORM API). When SCORM instance is updated you will never get any problems like described above.
New SCORM instance has some new properties, which are necessary to know for teachers:
- You can hide (show) SCORM navigation bar in SCORM properties.
- You can hide (show) SCORM results from the Gradebook.
Also, we would like to draw your attention to, that all students tracking for SCORM progress will be lost after updating SCORM instance. To avoid this you could unpublished old SCORM course and create new one. Remember that should never activate old SCORM course in order to keep tracking.

These errors could appear if your SCORM package isn't well-formed. Check the file imsmanifest.xml, it should be located in the package. SCORM package should contain SCORM content only without nested folders. |
